The piezoelectric effect and oscilloscopes

The piezoelectric effect can cause unexpected signals on an oscilloscope when the device or probe is physically bumped. Ceramic capacitors inside the scope act as piezoelectric materials, generating small voltages from vibration. While this effect is real, it rarely impacts actual measurements thanks to rigorous testing and robust design—so unless you’re measuring on a vibrating surface, there’s nothing to worry about.
